Community Outreach and Screening

Ethiopian Diabetic Association and Heal Community Ethiopia

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent collaboration with the Ethiopian Diabetic Association (EDA) for a Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening event held on August 14th. This event marked a significant milestone in our mission to improve the health and well-being of under-served communities.

Together with EDA and our dedicated staff and volunteers, we organized a powerful campaign that served over 100 individuals from various walks of life. Our primary goal was to screen participants for diabetes, hypertension, and other NCDs while also raising awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention.

What Made Our Screening Event Special:

  • Comprehensive Health Screening: At the heart of our event were free blood sugar and blood pressure tests. These simple yet crucial tests helped us identify individuals at risk of NCDs and connect them with the care they need.

  • Consultations with Healthcare Professionals: We provided attendees with the opportunity to consult with experienced doctors. For many participants, this was their first time receiving professional medical guidance, which is often a luxury for under-served communities.

  • Education and Awareness: Beyond screening, our event was a platform for education and awareness. We shared valuable information about NCDs, their risk factors, and the lifestyle changes that can make a significant difference in preventing these diseases.

Our partnership with the Ethiopian Diabetic Association (EDA) for the NCD Screening event was just the beginning of our commitment to improving community health. We believe that continued collaboration is the key to achieving lasting positive change.

Meseret Humanitarian Organization and Heal Community Ethiopia

We achieved remarkable outcomes from our recent medical screening events held on August 13th and August 20th, organized by Heal Community Ethiopia. In collaboration with Meseret Humanitarian Organization and Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, we reached a significant milestone in our mission to provide healthcare access to those who need it most.

Our Dedication to Service:

Our team of dedicated volunteers, including medical students, general practitioners, and residents from Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, joined forces to conduct medical screenings for over 800 women and children in need. We are immensely proud of their commitment to making a positive impact on our community’s health.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services:

At these events, our volunteers provided a wide range of services, including screenings for both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Our specialized areas of focus included family medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, dentistry, and dermatology. This holistic approach ensured that the healthcare needs of the community were met comprehensively.

Gratitude to Our Partners:

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, Meseret Humanitarian Organization, for hosting us and providing us with the opportunity to serve their community. Additionally, Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital’s unwavering support was instrumental in the success of these events. Together, we have demonstrated the power of collaboration in making a meaningful impact on healthcare access.

Our Ongoing Mission:

Medical missions like these lie at the heart of Heal Community Ethiopia’s goals. We are committed to serving vulnerable communities, promoting health equity, and bridging the gaps in healthcare access. These events exemplify our dedication to this mission and motivate us to continue our work with even greater determination.
